At Detroit Diesel, MDSI retrofitted two Motch 135 two–axis vertical turning lathes with OpenCNC in just eight days. The two lathes had obsolete controls—and finding spare parts to keep the old controls running was a constant problem. Now both machines are in full production, thanks to OpenCNC.

Because of the success of the software on the two retrofits, Detroit Diesel recently specified–and took delivery of—several new machines with OpenCNC.
