The flagship of Precision Industrial Automation’s plant is a Cincinnati Gilbert horizontal boring mill, a big machine with an 8’ x 10’ x 5’ work envelope. Before retrofitting the Gilbert with MDSI's OpenCNC, the company was spending over $30,000 a year to keep the machine's obsolete control up and running. Since OpenCNC, the machine has been 100% reliable. The operators are "delighted" with the new control, and the company is getting ready to do their second flagship machine, another Gilbert.
